A Day Ruined by Bees!

Well we made it to Florida safe yesterday and this morning after breakfast, Dad took the kids on a golf cart ride to walk Hershey in a different part of the park. Well they seen a nice climbing tree and after walking to the tree, they discovered some Yellow Jackets and that was not good.
Justin got two stings, Casey got 3 stings and my poor Dad got too many. He said that he hasn't been in that much pain in a LONG time. They mostly got on his head and he said that it felt like his head was going to explode. After some home treatment, he is feeling a LITTLE bit better.

Seeing the World! :o

After $170 and 1.5 hr wait, Justin has his eyeglasses.
*Doesn't he look so darn cute?

Our beautiful Bubba can finally see the world, the way he is suppose to see the world.

I was so nervous and stressed about him getting the glasses, but of course I didn't tell him. My chest was hurting so bad, because of the stress. I was worried that he would just freak out when he put on his own glasses. He didn't do anything, but tell the lady that put on his glasses that she looked like a giant. He took off running to Casey to tell her that she looked like a giant too...haha. I am so very happy that he loves the way everything looks.

I was told that he has needed glasses for so long, that EVERYTHING is going to look so much different for him now. He might even fall or run into a wall, because he had figured out to see the world without them, that now he will have to get use to the world with glasses. Right now, he is doing just fine with them.

Eyeglasses for Someone????

Someone in our family is getting eyeglasses and I'm sure you will not guess who??? No, it is not Luke or I - we are not that old yet...haha. Our little Bubba is going to need eyeglasses. We never knew that he has been needing them for a LONG time, there where NO signs until like two weeks ago. About two weeks ago, he started squinting and so his teacher sent him to see the school nurse and she is the one that said he might need a good eye exam. Well after taking him to the get his first 'official' eye exam yesterday, we found out that for sure he will need eyeglasses. His eye sight is 20/150 and that is not good at all. He cannot see far away - poor boy! The eyeglasses will make him see five times better then he is now. Right now, he is alright with getting and wearing eyeglasses. He was ready to walk out of the Dr. office yesterday with his glasses, but of course we can't get them that fast. I am checking for the best price, because the place I took him wanted $200 for the 'cool' eyeglasses. I will keep yall posted! Wish us the best of luck getting Bubba use to his eyeglasses. He will going back in for another eye exam in six months.

Smashing Pumpkins

After we put up the Christmas lights on Saturday and the kids begging ALL day to get on the roof, we finally let them. We also surprised them, by letting them smash their Halloween pumpkins and of course they loved it.

Yes, we have the lights up early, but we will not be plugging them in until after Thanksgiving. We had to get them up, because was leaving and would not be back until next month.

HAPPY Veteran's Day

Since yesterday was Veteran's Day, Applebee's was serving FREE dinner to any military personnel and so we went and enjoyed it. All we had to pay for was the kids dinner and drinks, man that was nice!
(Luke and Renee 1995 - Adak, AK)
Luke also got FREE lunch on base yesterday too. Yes, he worked on Veteran's Day, because he was off on Monday instead. Well when it became lunch time, he went to a couple places on base and they where closed and then he went over to the galley and he got FREE lunch - that made him very happy, he was afraid he wasn't going to get any lunch at all.
