The Sailor

It is the sailor, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the sailor, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the sailor, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the sailor, not the lawyer, Who has given us a right to a fair trail.
It is the sailor, like Luke, who salutes the flag.

Luke in Uniform

(new Service uniform)
I am a sailor...
Serving proudly, standing tall.
I do my job while knowing, the thanks it sometimes lacks.

He's Home!

Well as some of you know, Luke was gone for three weeks and now he is back. This is what it looked like, when he first got back.

He had some very happy kids and dogs...haha.

*I didn't tell the kids he was coming home on Saturday. When he got close to the house, he called me, so we could surprise the kids. He walked in real soft and slow and got right behind the kids. They didn't see him, but I did and then he said something and they started SCREAMING and crying (with joy).

Happy 35th Birthday Luke

Tuesday will be Luke's 35th birthday, but since he will not be home, we celabrated it a bit early.

We went out to eat at a place in our town, that we hadn't been before and it was really good. After that, the kids and I surprised Luke with an ice cream cake.

A picture is worth a Thousand Words!

Go Luke!
Go Navy!
*I just wish he didn't have his eyes closed.

My helper!

Luke does help me babysit, if I want to do other things around the house. He has always been good with babies.
We are both glad that we only have a baby part-time, not all the time. We have both agreeded to not have anymore babies of our own. I sometimes forget how hard it is to take care of a baby...HA!
